Darlington League Update

Richmond Badminton Club topped four of the five divisions in the Darlington & District League at the end of November including the Men’s, Ladies’ and Mixed, A divisions.

Mixed A Division

Richmond A are sitting top of the A Division with four wins from their five games having recorded wins against Larchfield A and St Teresas B this month as well as picking up four points in defeat against Wensleydale A.

Harrowgate Hill are second despite having only played two games beating Larchfield A and St Teresas A this month.

Wensleydale A and St Teresas A are 3rd and 4th respectively with the game between them finishing in a 7-2 win for Wensleydale. Durham & Tudhoe, Larchfield A and St Teresas B round out the table at this early stage.
Mixed B Division

Richmond B are top of B Division with an unbeaten record so far this season having beaten Aycliffe who are currently in second place 9-0 this month.

Aycliffe’s other matches have seen the record 6-3 wins at home to Haughton & Eppleby and away against Glaxo. Eppleby, Haughton & Glaxo (3rd, 4th and 5th) all have nine points with Eppleby winning at Larchfield B 6-3.

Larchfield B and Wensleydale B currently sit at the bottom of the table.
Mens A Division

As well as topping both Mixed divisions Richmond A are also top of the Mens A Division unbeaten with three wins out of three with an 8-0 win over Harrowgate Hill.

2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th are St Teresas A, Durham & Tudhoe, Larchfield and Harrowgate Hill separated by only three points with newly promoted St Teresas B at the bottom.
Mens B Division

Hummersknott A and Richmond B are separated by only three points at the top of Men’s Division B despite Richmond suffering a 6-2 defeat against Haughton this month.

Haughton are closing in on the promotion spots following the win in their only match of the month.

Aycliffe sit mid table after an 8-0 win over Hummersknott B in their only match in November, leaving Richmond C and Hummersknott B in 5th and 6th with both suffering 8-0 defeats in November.
Ladies Division

Richmond Ladies are at the top of the Ladies Division after two wins in the month 8-0 and 5-3 against Haughton and St Teresa’s.

The only other match this month saw Durham & Tudhoe move into 2nd place with an 8-0 win over Polam Hall in Polams first match since joining the league this season
